Senior Anti Financial Crime Officer

For one of our clients, a Geneva based Private Bank, we are looking for a Senior Anti Financial Crime Officer.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Business Line Anti Financial Crime team in Switzerland
  • Acting as a point of contact for Business Line queries, and liaising with regional/global AFC teams on complex or cross-jurisdiction matters where and when needed
  • Monitor compliance with legal, regulatory and internal rules at the bank with regards to new account opening and KYC review based on the risk scoring model and related review cycles
  • Supporting the AFC & Compliance Management team on complex financial crime risk matters and contributing subject matter expertise across key AFC topics
  • Review and sign-off of KYC reviews all market areas​
  • Provide advise and support to the Business Division on AFC & AML related matters
  • Assessing escalations relating to high-risk clients, structures and activities
  • Contributing to AFC risk assessments in projects and change initiatives, including New Product Approval (NPA), New Transaction Approval (NTA), process enhancements and system implementations
  • Delivering AFC guidance, training and awareness to stakeholders in coordination with the Financial Crime Education/Training team and other relevant partners
  • Supporting audit and regulatory readiness activities, including preparation of evidence packs, walkthrough materials, control descriptions and responses to internal/external audit or regulatory reviews
  • Maintaining strong documentation standards, ensuring AFC assessments, decisions and escalations are properly recorded and traceable

Skills

  • Degree in law, economics, or a successfully completed training with relevant appropriate professional qualification
  • At least 5 to 7 years of experience in the Swiss Banking industry, with significant experience in Anti-Financial Crime, Anti Money Laundering, CDB, sanctions, fraud, anti-bribery and corruption, and tax compliance
  • Sound understanding of national and international regulations and guidance related to AML and financial crime risk (such as FINMA requirements, FATF and Wolfsberg)
  • Experience in reviewing and assessing higher-risk client relationships and AFC-related escalations within private banking or wealth management environments
  • Ability to make sound assessment of the AFC/AML Compliance risks and communicate these to the Business Division
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written) as working language, French, German, additional language is an asset
  • Solution oriented
  • A strategic thinker and be capable of delivering a large change program whilst also managing an important, growing client-facing ‘run the bank’ service
